We are the Kwakiutl. We have lived here, on the northeastern shores of Vancouver Island, since time immemorial. Our ancestors hunted and fished on these lands and waters, and developed a rich culture through which they celebrated the diversity of life around them. We continue to be strong by honouring all that our ancestors have taught us. Read our story.

Welcome to Our Site

Please take some time to explore our world through this web site. We have divided the site into three main sections: Our Community, Our Land and Our Culture. You'll find these divisions are fluid, with a lot of crossover, as much that goes on in the Community has to do with Land and Culture, and much of our Culture is informed by where and how we live. Enjoy the journey! Slideshows, maps and movies on the site require the Flash Player which can be downloaded here.

Note on the Navigation: Our menus require javascript. If javascript is disabled in your browser, use the Sitemap page to navigate the site.
